Yeah they were using IBM 75GXP's but they swapped all of them out (70+) after they started failing at a disturbing rate, the story is still in the support files somewhere.

To change your client settings to the new team number, delete a file called ghclient.cfg in your genome directory. When you next run the client it will ask you for the setup details again and you can input the team number.

OK I created a Genome@Home team called StorageForum_net. Only underscores are allowed so no dot was possible. Team number is 678294834. Happy Crunching!

Where to buy Tekram U3D (3.3V version) online?

LOL, certainly the drive gets very warm, I'll put it up the top of my AOpen tower, and hook up the 2*80mm fans adjacent to it.

Where to buy Tekram U3D (3.3V version) online?

Ok, I have now entered the world of SCSI. Got the Tekram U3D, which ended up being a 5V version (which will work fine in the 64bit slots of the Tyan TigerMP). Hooked up the x15 and everything is running smoothly. The true test of speed will occur when I plug it into the dual Athlon, until then...

Definitely wasn't me Cliptin, I can't stand the stuff. When I say light beer, I am reffering to low alchohol beer, not a light body. Try some Carlton Crownies, or James Boags Premium if you can get a hold of them (Australian beers)

Where to buy Tekram U3D (3.3V version) online?

It doesn't mention 3.3V anywhere on the site, but reports are that they are producing 3.3V compatible cards now. Notice they also state max transfer rate of 266 MB/sec at 64bit/66MHz as well! I don't think they upgrade their website very often.

Where to buy Tekram U3D (3.3V version) online?

I ended up ordering from the Tekram online store, at least that way I can be sure of getting a 3.3V version. The LSI's are cheap, but once I included the price of cables/terminators the Tekram was better value. I'll give it a spin on Friday prob.

Hmm, I'm sure I replied to this yesterday? I will bring it back if I have enough room in the bag. I will also need a 120V converter, MS in it's infinite wisdom decided not to make it dual voltage.

I'm out near Rochester, NY. I've only sampled the Molsons Canajan beer, too many bad memories of Bud to venture too far. The reason I ask is because the client I run (genome@home) can use a different seed each time it processes a work unit, enabling the client to be run without a permanent net connection, and allowing me to leave it unattended for a few weeks, then dump the cache when I want to.

I agree completely Tony. It's absolutely crazy that the designation of certain domain names can be left to a one-man volunteer who seems to be rather scewed in the head as well. Imagine if he'd gone on a 6 month holiday whilst still in control! It just kills confidence by consumers.

Pradeep: No more guns for special stuff Is that a single stack and double stack 1911 style? Cause single stack won't get you far in IPSC. Need to get to at least 13 rounds per clip to be competitive, even then most are moving to .40 S&W for more capacity (16).

I think the solution is clear to all of us. Doug accidentally slips his hand off the mouse whilst in the admin control panel, causing CougTek's account to be temporarily suspended, which by an incredible coincidence occurs at the same time as posts 980-1000 of Apology to China. :D
