WM6 was much more file and document centric in a way that I found helpful. Seemingly no major mobile OS has really stayed on that path; everything is apps and widgets now.

I don't shave every day, which certainly helps with that figure.

Shaving solutions, or, what do Gilette and all those companies do with all their $?

I picked up some products from "The Art of Shaving" a couple weeks ago. I'm trying out different shaving creams and soaps right now, just to see if I can find something that works better. Supposedly, the one $22 jar of shaving cream I bought will last 8 to 10 months, versus going though a $7...

I honestly think WM7 was completely the wrong direction. I was legitimately happy with my WM6.5 device for the span of its life. I was able to use it to do work. The feature set of WM7 removed a lot of the tools I was actually using; WM7 is much more like an entertainment device than a tool. I...

Sony has Spider-Man and characters related to Spider-Man. Fox has X-men and characters related to the X-men. Fox also has rights to the Fantastic Four and related characters, which explains why the aliens in the Avengers are Chitauri and not Skrulls. This also means no Dr. Doom, Galactus or...

They do eventually lose their stickiness, but yes, you can mount things vertically, including smartphones and hard drives. I guess they have to be washed every so often to maintain their stickiness. After I slapped one on the dirty exterior of my car, I found that it didn't hold as well.

    Windows 8

Not so much firing up as "stopped dead in their tracks." Windows on ARM doesn't seem that interesting to me. It's feature incomplete compared to real Windows, and just the fact that I now think of it as "real Windows" is problem enough. It's not going to be able to participate in a domain and...

    Grippy pad!

A couple months ago, I saw a news post somewhere or other that introduced me to the Grippy Pad. It's a little mat of just-sticky-enough stuff that you can more or less slap on anything and will more or less hold anything that's placed on it. It's meant to do things like hold cell phones and...

Costumed super-heroes have been part of our culture for 80 years. We've had comic books, radio dramas, movie shorts and TV shows about them. I've seen the Avengers five times now. I've seen the IMAX 3D presentation twice, regular 3D once and the normal version twice. High-end rackmount question

It's my experience when dealing with server-anything that you do what the specs say you do. You buy the RAM they want. You use the rails they tell you and you don't guess as to the acceptable dimensions for boards in the chassis.

    High-end rackmount question

It looks to me like the Asus board is too long. Even if you can somehow wedge it in there, something tells me you'd be better off with something you wouldn't need the Jaws of Life to get in or out of the chassis.
