[NEWS] - 4MB L3 Xeon coming this quarter

Intel will come out with 4MB L3 Xeon processors this quarter, according to this old news item from the Inquirer. The price will probably be sky-high. I hope AMD follows, as these increasing cache sizes usually give a nice boost to DB servers etc. News source Submitted by The_JoJo

[NEWS] - Novell offers protection for it's Linux customers

After the Novell acquisition of SUSE is done, Novell will offer some legal protection to it's SUSE customers. You will have to sign up for support etc., but that is not surprising. More resistance against SCO again. News source Submitted by The_JoJo

The eternal Apache vs. IIS battle is still raging, although according to these news Apache is still leading and widening the gap to IIS. Apache market share, according to Netcraft, has grown last year from about 62% to 67%. News source

Agreed. For the record, here we have a lot more winter time than pretty much anywhere in the States (Alaska excluded) and more people use cars instead of trucks than in the States. 4x4 are all about perceived security rather than true safety. I would take a Corolla with winter tires over a...

To pay the auction I won this evening, I planned to use PayPal and pay from my banking account. Problem is : I forgot to confirm my banking account to PayPal earlier. The confirmation is supposed to take 2 or 3 business days and that delay will surely piss the seller. Last time I used PayPal...

I often wonder if I should moderate myself from posting, but every time I do or that another poster-on-a-frenzy do (like Tannin did this Fall), the forum becomes lethargic and few new discussions appear. Thanks guys, but the seller has just replied to me and he changed his mind and accepts to ship here. I'll probably have to pay customs fees and taxes since I'm sure he won't write "gift" on the package, but, oh well, it's still cheaper than if I would have got it here. Again, thank you. It's...
