    Android phones: Tips, tricks?

Check out the OnePlus One. I was looking at Ting, and this phone has incredible specs, and an incredible, sort of hacked version of Android. Plus it's only 300 dollars. https://oneplus.net/one#overview

I have to use Puffin, and go to KRON's bay area traffic over view before starting off. Even today, 580 going to Tracy is a solid redline, and 101 south from Mendicino is also red. Often times the bridges are likewise 0-10 miles an hour. Waze doesn't really give you a bay area overview, or, I...

    Android phones: Tips, tricks?

I'm getting the urge to root my Samsung Mega again, after the new laws this year. It's on Sprint. Experiences? Ideas? How do you backup your data prior to rooting? Also what is an "unlocked Verizon phone?" I see then new HTC phones listed that way all the time. What would be the best way to...

There are certain functions that would be nice. Since I have a Samsung Mega, I don't usually carry it around the house when doing work here. I do have some very nice watches, and do wear those. It would be nice if the watch actually did what Surfline is trying to get them to do: Show weather...

I've been looking at upgrading my Panasonic laptops into this century. I've been waiting for either a reasonably priced i3 or i5, or the refurbished Lenovo Thinkpad. The core duo processors start at about 150, and they come in some very expensive packages, like the X200. At about 200 (these...

SSDs - State of the Product?

Not to mention that mechanical drives are going to have to become MUCH more reliable to justify the possibility of lost data. Once SSD's are viable for large volume storage, it would be idiotic not to use them for backups.

SSDs - State of the Product?

So, you have technology that will eventually reduce it's own demand. If SSD's continue to last as long as the ones being tested, why bother buying anything else, and you won't have to buy one for 5-10 years? A constant increase in capacity does give an incentive, along with dropping prices, to...
