    Mmmmm...I love my new ISP!!

Ack. I had forgotten that full duplex did not double the bandwidth. It only allows 100% to be used partly in one direction and partly in the other. It now sounds like you originally meant to say full duplex and symmetric. Does duplex automatically mean symmetric for telcos? But now you say you...

Antec's new plus series...how's it look?

I just bought the 660+. I especially like the front mounted 2xUSB and 1xfirewire ports. It has 4 LEDs on the facia. The case came with an Antec True330 PS. It is not meantioned in the online specs but the PS has two thermally controlled fans and a lead with two thermally controlled 4-pin...

Speaking of ATX weirdness: I once dropped a case screw onto a motherboard and on one of the bounces the screw made contect with something and turned the machine on. Very disconcerting!

Energy, Thanks. I have decided to go with Buck's case recommendation. I will put one of thesein it at first. Later (meaning around the end of May), I'll move that MB to here and put a Duron or PIII into Buck's case. Congratulations Buck! You just got a node named after you! :mrgrn: BTW, I...

Unless I missunderstand you, that will not work. You need a momemtary switch. When I put an atx power supply into my AT case I had to use the reset switch for power up. I used the turbo switch for reset and just hit it twice.

    AMDs MOESI cache

This may be old news for some. Apparently with AMDs MOESI cache coherency protocol, processors in a multi-processor system can read from each others cache. Intel chipsets have a design choice/weakness that makes this either very difficult or impossible...

Don't like the new red color

Actually it might be that since there is nothing else red on the screen it sticks out like a sore thumb. What about the same yellow that is in the header picture.? Have we tried that?

Don't like the new red color

Probably just needs to be a different shade though. It is too jaring. Do you think you could implement the changes in a new site profile so that we can look at it but we are not stuck with it.

It'll have a Duron 950 in it at first but I'd like the HSF to work up to the limits of the MB (266MHz FSB). I'm looking for a large but flat HSF. I'd like...

Barton, SOI... Am I missing something?

In other words, lets assume there is a chip that in a certain design will only clock (even overclock) to 300MHz even under radical cooling. Someone makes the exact same chip except with SOI. The SOI version will not perform any better than the non SOI version. Performance improvement comes with...
