    Certifications

Howdy, back again, it's been a while since I was here the last time, and I'm not talking about this thread now. Probably got some new certs also since the start of this thread. Merc comment reminds me to renew/upgrade my MS certs, hmm....

SSDs - State of the Product?

Hi Greg, yes, running 7 64-bit. Thanks for the offer! But I might ditch my SCSI-boot drive now altogether due to this, let's see. I'd also have a chance to upgrade my parents computer with the drive / controller.

SSDs - State of the Product?

Took the plunge after reading some of your posts here (and from having a slow computer running vmware, normal stuff and what not out of one Samsung 1.5T drive), so got myself one of these for a boot drive: Intel SSDSA2MH080G2R5 So far so good. Nothing earth shattering, but seems snappier...

Upgrade from Vista to 7 32-bit, 29160 trouble

Hi, it did work with only those 2 modifications mentioned above AND after removing most of storage related stuff / drivers. Got it installed, did take quite a long time. When I have more spare time I'll take the suggested route and do a clean install with the 64-bit version. Thanks for the...

Upgrade from Vista to 7 32-bit, 29160 trouble

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll bang my head agains the wall for a while more, and see if I can get this working. A clean install is inevitably on the horizon, but right now I don't have the time for it :( I'll look into the other storage drivers, and see if they have an impact. Just...

Upgrade from Vista to 7 32-bit, 29160 trouble

Hi, I'm trying to do an upgrade from Vista 32-bit to Win 7. I guess it's not a surprise, but the upgrade fails and tells me to install the latest drivers for the Adaptec 29160 card. It's got them (the Adaptec ones). How can I go forwards with the upgrade? Anything to be done? Downgrade of...

    Knives

Hi, sorry for the late answer. On public places you are not allowed to carry any guns or knives or anything harmful without a good reason, and a good reason being that the utility is part of some show or official use. On the other hand, many people carry a pocket knife / leatherman with them...

I've been in contact with the manufacturer, great folks there. I't looks like I'll be able to do my business directly with them. Candlepowerforums, great place, it got me excited about getting a proper led light ( I always carry some sort of flashlight+knife+whatnot with me), just need some...

Hi, I'll probably be making a short business trip to Colorado and Texas in March. I'm pretty tempted to buy a Mission Knives MPT and / or MPF in Titanium when I'm there. Any good recommendations on where to buy them from ? Probably easiest just to buy them online and have them sent to the...

    EOS 350D lens

Hi, I'm thinking about buying either one of these: CANON EF-S 55-250 MM F4-5.6 IS CANON OBJ. EF 75-300 MM F4.0-5.6 III USM Any comments on either of them? They seem to be the ones in the right price range. For the first one, which I would prefer (the IS part...), they aren't sure when it will...

    Linux Certifications?

Oh, and one more thing, I think a good way to get necessary basic understanding of linux is to go through all the aspects required for a linux LPIC/RHCE certification. That's the basis to build further knowledge and specialisation areas on.

    Watch preferences

I've many times looked at the Citizen Promaster divers watches, but it has never really "clicked" for me to buy it, I don't know why because it's a very good looking watch! Same thing really with the Tag Heuer divers watch, not really clicked for me even though I drool about it a long time.

    Linux Certifications?

Linux Professional Institute test are not so much "vendor" specific, and they are actually quite thorough in my opinion. RHCE is pretty much "the" linux cert to get, it is the one that is known and respected from what I've seen.

It is, and has been. But no QMD. I just put verbose logging on, waiting for it to finish a packet, then I'll se what it reports to the server about the memory (a low memory value might explain why it's not getting qmd).

I've got my P4 3.2HT folding, but it hasn't gotten a QMD even though it has 1GB of memory. Running linux. This is holding me back quite a lot, as it's on 24/7. Any ideas? Seems I need to install vmware and XP on it to get QMDs :( .

    Folding@Home

Stanford would wan't you to run 1 instance, so they get the results faster. But if you want more points, run 2 instances on a P4 HT. QMD just requires lot's of memory, don't see it changing the above statement.
