It's cheaper and faster than top enterprise SSD like the HGST SSD800MH or Seagate SSD 1200 (both featuring SAS 12Gbps interface), but you can't fit as many in a single server though. However, fit two or three like that in a server with mecanical drives in the front hot-swap bays, then install something like
Datacore SAN Symphony V on it and you end up with an amazingly fast SAN that can't be touched by proprietary SAN solutions costing less than an order of magnitude more.
