I just tried and couldn't do it either, but it worked when I checked out.
It looks like they pulled the free Icy Dock adapter alltogether. I don't even see it listed anymore. Supposedly the retail Intel G2 drives have some sort of adapter inside the box anyhow.

I canceled my order with the Icy Dock and reordering with the case. Even know I said I didn't want to get the case, I'd rather have the case especially with free shipping. There's probably one more Icy Dock now in stock. 
The live online chat was easy to use. The only drawback is that it'll take 3-5 days to post a refund to my card, but that's not a big deal.

High volume sales seems to be a bit of a problem at newegg, not the first I have heard of this stuff happening, mostly mentioned on HOCP forum deals sections.

FYI: The G2s do ship with an adapter. It's basically just a metal plate, mounting the 2.5" drive from the bottom and the 3.5" from the side. There is no way it is compatible with any kind of hot-swap, as the 2.5" drive is centered in the 3.5" space.

As you can tell, this is something I don't normally feature, but I hope it helps anyone out that is looking for one of the drives and for a decent price. I'm not sure how long I'll have this available through my store. I'm sure at some point soon my prices won't be competitive. Most of my sales are systems, not components. The only shipping I'm offering is UPS Ground for the Continental US. I do not sell or ship out of country.

You do know that your timing sucks! You posted your ad for the G2@$259. the day that Newegg listed theirs for $239. shipped with a free Icy Dock drive converter.
However, Newegg's price is a one day sale, so maybe you have a chance later but we don't know what Newegg will do to their price after the sale though. Good luck.

I suggest going with 3 Intel drives instead. I currently have 3 Vertex in RAID-0 and it just saturates the bus. The slightly faster access times of the Intel would be appreciated.
Nope...it was sold out by the time I reordered.
Newegg just called me because they noticed that I had canceled my ordered yesterday. I told them I was confused between the two deals and was trying to reorder with the case. She said the drive is out of stock but the next time I order they will give me $10 off my next purchase (of anything) because of the pain and heartache from not getting the deal. ;-)

It depends what's the targeted application. Faster for games means something like Ddrueding has. Faster for a transactional server means something like an Asus Z8NA-D6C with two quad-core Nehalem-based Xeon. Faster for Folding@home means anything with a motherboard with four double-space PCI-E16X slots and four GeForce 295GTX graphic cards.
Intel SSD drives usually feature higher random access I/O than any other comparable drives. Other drives have higher sequential transfer rates, but as we all know, this doesn't help most of the time.

It's an i7/920, 12GB of Corsair DDR3/1333 RAM, 4xSamsung 1.5TB drives, a Gigabyte P55-UD3R, 3x OCZ 60GB SLC drives, 2x ATI 5850s, a Corsair 750W PSU, an LG BD burner and an Antec 300 chassis.
Total is around $4200. I think.
I'm sure I could have gone with the faster i7, but I don't think there will be a practical difference.
The system will run Windows 7 with the User Documents folder redirected to the array of 1.5TB drives (probably configured as RAID10). Windows 7 and programs will reside on a RAID0 of SSDs.

My main reason for wanting a faster CPU was for single-threaded app performance. It's difficult to max out all the cores for very long, but maxing out one is easy.
The reason for getting the EE is that you can't turn up the FSB much with that much RAM, it just doesn't like it.

I'm assuming he will notice or that he wants bragging rights. For example, I seriously considered a dual i7 based Xeon system but decided that was over kill and would be so expensive that other items more valuable to a consumer would have had to have been sacrificed.

You're absolutely right. At that price range, even a low-end DCC workstation user wants bragging rights. So, that is an important part of the purchase. There's also a field of users that are picky about the aesthetics of their computer case, and Li-Lian makes some very nice options.

Also, are you using an actual raid card, or the onboard motherboard raid?
How well does this work?
Do the onboard controllers have really fast processors, and, lots of cache?
With these machines capable of using so much ram, what ram disk setups do you use?
Also, why not a multiple drive, removeable storage system?

In this case, the system is being constructed largely as a reward for an employee meeting some professional certification requirements. The guy spends his whole professional life working in Excel. He doesn't NEED a super-computer, but his boss wanted to give him a very visible bonus for being the first to get whatever credential it is that he just got.
He'll also be getting four 24" displays for this setup, and apparently whatever the hell he's doing, he'll wind up using all that space.
And yes, 750W is plenty for that rig. Corsair's high end PSUs have ATI certification for use in Crossfire setups and are on the Hardware compatibility list for dual-card configurations. 12GB RAM is probably a bigger worry than the four spinning drives (do we call them MPDs - moving parts drives - now?) but overall everything should fit in under 750W.
Most of the servers I deal with - 1U and 2U rigs with four or six hard drives and dual Xeon CPUs, use a pair of 350W PSUs. I think we forget exactly how ridiculous 500W+ PSUs actually are.
