Yes I think it is some sort of conspiracy to keep these blank media prices high. They (CDR) were real low a while ago and now I can't seem to find any. What gives?
I was thinking that if they were making you type in the disc, why not just plop it in the cd drive and have it read the title and contents information and store that on the computer? Probably avoid all that typing and increase the searching ability.
I thought the demo was weak... little window I could barely see so I couldn't make out the software interface. And a database that couldn't search the CD's content? It would seem so easy to just add that ability.
But then again I keep all my cds in binders and a cardboard box.
Mowing the lawn isn't the problem for me.
It is battling the crab grass/weeds.
This spring we've decided to plow it all and reseed.
Lawn service? You think we are made of money ;)
Just so you all know, in order to use the answer function for the modem on hold app, you can't use the phone port of the modem. You have to split the line and hook the phone up to that. Or use a phone from somewhere else in the house. Basically every phone will work but the one you expect to...
You should probably summarize the remaining items for sale in a new post in the for sale or trade forum. You may be tracking the original threads but potential buyers probably aren't.
You might know but there will be two charges, registering the domain and hosting the website. Registering the domain should be no more than $10/year and is usually done through the company you buy the web hosting space from. Hosting for his usage should be no more than $10/month with many...
I had a rash on my chest that I would get in the summer mostly.
It was a fungal infection. A little fungal cream and a couple of weeks later it was gone without a trace of ever coming back. I had it for like 3 years before I went to the dermatologist.
This turns out to be due to bittorrent. I recently installed it to get the latest slackware iso images. And since it takes a while even on broadband, I leave the computer alone and go do other stuff. When I come back the computer is locked: numlock doesn't respond and the screen won't return...
I thought I was going to have to bail on this program.
It was running so slow it was nearly unusable.
And my machine locked up when I went away to give Liam a bath and put him to bed.
I watched the processes in task manager and apparently nod32 really doesn't like this program. It is probably...
I downloaded it and am trying it out. It looks nice enough for my use. Maybe I'll put the database on my usb flash drive. I'm trying to think of a good password for the master key. I tried the random generator but that was too difficult to remember.
boohoo, I can't access SF from home again :( (doing this from work vpn)
Is there some way of flushing the dns cache of my router or something like that? Netgear MR814v2
Thunderbird is catching most of my junk mail. (7500 since may)
The only ones that seem to get through are the really short ones that look like someone is sending me a link to a site I requested.
About 2 weeks ago I had a zit on the back of my neck just above the hair line and to the right. It got infected, really bad. I had a fever and shivers and lots of pain. I went to see the doc on Tuesday and they gave me antibiotics and sent me to see a surgeon today. The surgeon drained most...
Anybody use a good password manager that makes it easy to share them between machines? A network connection required would be fine. I'm just looking for something secure. I use a plain text file now at home. At work I use Password Safe but it's UI is not so great. I need to get these lists...
I prefer SF for the Signal to Noise Ratio.
Though the posting rate is a bit lower than I'd like.
I visit several times a day and no new posts :(
At SR I might read two to five posts a day.
I read virtually all the SF posts at first and follow the ones I'm remotely interested in.
I think they'll have problems shrinking it.
Hard drives will still be around for a long time for larger storage and much higher rewrite ability. I think it may allow an almost instantaneous boot drive. This will actually be the coolest thing as computers will approach the same instant on as...
0.9 wasn't tested enough and it shows.
For instance in order to install other themes (which you will want to do as the new theme is not that great) you have to download the jar file and then drag and drop it in the theme manager. If you click the links on update.mozilla.org, it just wants to...
I tried the 8 Page xerox one with a recent junkmail still in the envelope. No dice. Shreds half of it then jams. Bah. I want something that I can just shove the unopened mail into. And I don't want to lift the heavy shredder head of the bin. So I look for one with a pull out bin and like...
I searched for like a half hour and couldn't find the right thing.
I found one for bash.
set bell-style none in .inputrc
but no equivalent for ksh (korn shell).
Is there any way to get this on Windows 2000?
I often have to view photos but not edit them and waiting for the gimp to load is annoying. So I'm looking for a free viewer that would load as quickly as this XP built-in app.
I would say panasonic because I have one and generally like panasonic electronic equipment. Checking the circuitcity website, they are all wider than 27", more like 30".
Seriously 207.216.9.157 stop sending me mydoom.a!!!!
I get enough spam, now I have to deal with a virus from a system with a system datetime in the year 2000!
Is there anything I can do to get this machine cleaned?
I sent an e-mail to the abuse e-mail at the domain they are on, telus.net.
But...
I know there was a thread around here somewhere about wireless router recommendations.... anybody point me there? Search didn't seem to turn up what I seemed to remember.
My uncle's work is going to pay for wireless router and PC card for his laptop so his broadband internet (comcast cable) is...
The database usually wouldn't store the images themselves, only metadata about them. The database could store the images themselves and then you wouldn't have to worry about them moving around in the filesystem because they aren't in the filesystem but in the database.
Now this is becoming...
Circuit City has the Epson Perfection 1260 Photo for $50. No MIR rebates required. The Canon LIDE20 is $40. Ad says limited quantities. blah blah blah.
I picked up the Epson. Works pretty well so far.
ghost again rebooted. Windows thinks the ntfs partition is corrupted and unreadable! I've check the drive with windows chkdsk after formatting with a full scan and it came out perfect. So it isn't the partition. Must be some ghost 5.1c limitation. Maybe there is a ghost switch I need to...
Returned the Y4 version and bought the Y3 version.
Manuf Jun 01 2003 and has newer firmware.
I'll try to run some benchmarks and let you guys know how it performs.
So I see this review at xbitlabs.
It says the second number in the Serial is the number of heads/surfaces.
I had $70 in gift cert to best buy and they have the 120GB version for $80 after rebates. So I bought it. But I got one that says Y4. There were also ones that say Y3. So I'm trying to...
Happen to have $70 worth of Best Buy gift cards (whoohoo birthday money). Was in best buy considering the $100 or less scanners. Saw the Canon LIDE 30 and HP 3500C. Any thoughts?
