    Windows 10

The app search from the start menu in 10 is my biggest complaint, as it very rarely works for me. Example: In Win 7, 8, or 8.1 I can hit the windows key and type "Photoshop", the program called Photoshop that is installed on my computer appears as the top result, pressing enter launches it...

    Exchange Database Woes (Again)

I suspect the opposite is true. Google has enough techs, lawyers, and control over their entire environment to maintain a list of the standards that they comply with. Their exposure is also high enough that I'd bet their system is configured properly and actually complies with the standards...

    Exchange Database Woes (Again)

Nothing is entirely safe. Larger organizations that can devote enough skilled staff to maintain their own e-mail/spam/AV/calendar/etc system in a secure way can have a system more secure than trusting it with Google. Most companies running Exchange do not fall into this category.

    Exchange Database Woes (Again)

I've given management the choice, and they've decided to keep former employee accounts open just for easy access. The $50/user/year is nothing to maintain a full searchable record of all their communications. Protocol is that password is changed and given to former supervisor, and all new...

Wow am I glad you used your good keyboard for that post; I wouldn't have understood half of it if it were below your average for clarity. Thanks for the information! 4k TVs and Monitors

This first-gen Dell 32" 4k in front of me now positively sucks. Running it in DP1.2 (60hz) causes constant loss of sync and corrupted video. I'm looking forward to replacing it with something a bit bigger that can handle 4k@60 reliably.

Nope. Hate it. One of the big selling points of getting in with your guys on S4s was not having to negotiate. I'm very tempted to get someone else to negotiate my next car. Best experience ever was for my wife's current car; did it all via e-mail over the course of a morning.

question Where'd the X79 motherboards go?

I've had a 2-post rack in the living room for years, but I think it is time to transition to a 4-poster. Due to cable length limitations it was important for the rack to be close to the desk. Now that USB 3.1 and HDMI 2.0 over fiber are a thing I can put the hardware further away. I may even...

Again this is part of dealing with a system that already exists. When I was in SE Asia and showed interest in a product, the seller immediately quoted a price 5-10x what it was worth. I'd respond with an offer 1.1x the value to me (still probably double what they would have settled for had I...

Tipping is awful. It's been shown that tipping and bartering corrilate directly with corruption. There is also a layer of social awkwardness that I find very distasteful. The worst one I have to do these days is LAX -> SVO; about 12.5 hours usually with a 1 hour delay. I want to buy a new car

I want to buy a new car

I'll likely be financing a car in the next year or so. In the past I've financed cars for 0.9% through dealerships (with good credit). Even if I have the money I can do better than 1% elsewhere (managed 5% in the market last year).
