    Regedit, cmd not working in XP

    For me the XP repair has worked even if the SP on the CD was different (older) than the installed operating system SP. It just reoves all the updates that were added after the CD SP. This is one reason some apps don't work right. They need the later updates if they were installed with them...

    I believe I saw an article on Slashdot that told how to tune Linux to work better with SSD drives. Aparently Windows and Linux both need some driver tuning to use SSDs.

    I have used something very similar for SCSI 80 pin to 68 pin. They worked fine. But make sure you put a piece of tape on the PC board on the side that faces the hard drive. I had one short out and it destroyed the hard drive.

    Yep. I have had two heart catherizations previous to the open heart surgery. Even with a bland (healthy) diet, I still have cholesteral problems. I'll be trying some new medications soon. I'm beginning to believe that if you abuse your body early, you will pay for it the rest of your life...

    I have the following sizes for the install files: Dot Net 1.1 = 23meg Dot Net 2 = 22meg Dot Net 3 = 51meg Dot Net 3.5 = 197meg Dot Net 1 must be installed by itself. Dot Net 3 contains Dot Net 2. I haven't installed DOT Net 3.5 yet. And, there are different downloads for 64bit. Bozo :joker:

    The new Autopatcher is great. It downloads the most recent patches so it is up to date. Then the entire program and patches can be burned to disc. RyanVM is good too, but is made to be slip streamed into the install disk. Bozo :joker:
