    Spring Time

Thanks Mercutio. The last one is my favorite too, and amazingly, it didn't require any color/brightness/contrast alterations. I thought that all the images looked better with the white "inner glow", instead of just a stark edge. I'm sorry to hear that your neighborhood is so synthetic and...

    Spring Time

Since it is spring time in my neck of the woods, I thought I might take a couple of pictures of some flowers in my yard. No, they're not taken with a digital camera, just a plain old Minolta XG1 (pretty time consuming to setup, shoot (without a preview), and then have them developed). I think...

I now have 5 machines behind the bar running Genome. Today I had to move them around a bit so that I would use less space and take better advantage of my KVM switch. The downside is all of the heat these monsters generate. I'll have to find a way to cool things off a bit.

    External EIDE RAID from Promise

Quite true, hence Buck said that the product was interesting. As a matter of fact, I think Buck mentioned that he's seen the local data recovery place use EIDE RAID boxes for a few years.

    Help - I've inherited an Apple G3

Am I gonna have to put each of you in the corner? If this doesn't get settled, we're goin' for a drinkin' match. You'll both drink until I've determined that peace has been restored and I don't care if it is Saturday morning in Victoria or Friday night in Indiana! The one thing I won't do is...

Don't mind Buck, he's had a long and hard day. I've given him some Bakers bourbon, but that hasn't helped much. I think he really needs some sleep. I do think that you are all crazy for staying in the computer business, tending bar is much easier, and much more enjoyable. I'm surprised that...

Weight! Don't even talk about being over-weight. That fat git, Buck, should lose a few too. Tannin is complaining about the effects of alcohol, and yet he smokes? Tea, don't listen to him. Skip the smokes and have a glass of wine.

World Cup 2002 starts Friday 31 May, with group A beginning the games. The first teams from group A to play will be France and Senegal. Perhaps some of you don't care for the World Cup, but Buck and I do, so I thought a thread on this subject was appropriate. More updates will come as the...

    OT: Apology to China

Isn't that the truth sometimes. When the bar gets quiet, it's nice watching the occasional show, sitcoms notwithstanding. The problem is that many of the new American sitcoms are either NOT funny, or weird, dabbling in the occult and witches. So I turn the old knob to public television, and...

    OT: Apology to China

But is it really that risky? Regardless of what I sell, I already have a location, I have regular customers (lively bunch at that), and we even hold the occassional party. So there is some activity, but perhaps we don't appeal to enough folks. So I figured, that a few computer systems plugged...

It's been pretty quiet around here. The bar is well stocked, the kitchen is ready, but the patrons are few. I thought of providing some entertainment (as if some of the regulars weren't enough). After carefully reading through some other posts, a gaming corner sounded pretty decent. What do...

What has our Bartender been up to!

That gives professionals like us a bad name! He drank 3 bottles of wine! Buck should have stuck with his usual, beer or even better, bourbon. At least with beer he would have more liquid volume, requiring more visits to the head. The bourbon would have gone straight to his brain and made him...

    New look: opinions please

Tea, The site is looking good. I like the blue combinations used for the Motherboard sections. However, the image: green-swash.gif does not fit particularly well into that pages color scheme. The color you spec out for the <A> tag would look better for this 'horizontal rule" or...
