Funny how they really didn't have a choice if they wanted to go for "fastest car". VAG controls the best track for such things and wouldn't let Hennessey in (best described when Top Gear did the Veyron SS). The only alternative was to build a car that could get up to those speeds and back very...

    Some work on my A3

Sorry guys, I thought I had posted a response from my phone earlier. All is well; he ended up doing something beyond clearing the codes (re-initialization?) a couple times, along with a full reboot (disconnecting battery) and all the codes went away. It seems I dodged a serious bullet. And the...

Your home Stereo/sound system/s? What did you buy, how much, and why did you buy it?

Just use the remote to switch projection modes depending on what is going on. The best we've found so far was the Dazian Translite white.

Your home Stereo/sound system/s? What did you buy, how much, and why did you buy it?

Yup. Long room, projector on one end, screen in the middle. Same side as the projector is a bed, opposite side is a rockband setup. Basically he wants the image to look decent from both sides.

Your home Stereo/sound system/s? What did you buy, how much, and why did you buy it?

My brother-in-law is planning a long attic room with a projector on one end and the screen in the middle. He'd like the screen to work for both front and rear modes. Any recommendations for a material that will look good from both sides?

I would hope so, but I fear Stereodude is right. I haven't tried resetting the codes yet; I want them sitting there for my mechanic to look at, but none of the fuses blew (frustrating). That makes me think that electronics have gone. Step one was putting 70k miles on it and reducing it to a...

Almost got away with it. Got in, did the wiring I wanted, modified the trim as necessary, and started re-assembly. Your opinions on "skinning?"

Skinning isn't my thing. I work on enough different systems that I really need to be familiar with the default look and feel. The one exception is Classic Shell on Win8. Use of IE ... today?

I'm hesitant to trust a closed-source product in an environment (the internet) that is changing so rapidly. How many known security bugs are in Firefox or Chrome? It may be a lot, but at least it is a known quantity. Deal-breakers are also dealt with more promptly (as Merc has stated).

Thanks for that time. One end is an ATT T-1, but the other is a local wireless ISP that I do quite a bit of work with. I'll give their head-tech a call and see if they've fooled with anything lately. If ATT blocked VPNs on their business connections it would be on Slashdot already.

With something as volatile as crypto currencies, the question for me would be how long before the equipment pays for itself? After that ROI becomes less important, but the thing needs to exist long enough to cash out. Then it can be just a game.

I keep my phone in my front pants pocket. This isn't an issue with the S3 at all, and I suspect the Note 3 will also work there if you keep it naked. ProClip (my car mount of choice) makes one for the Note 3 (naked) or one specifically for the Note 3 in a Defender-series Otterbox case. This...
