48V DC LED wiring for a new build; XM-Ls, etc.

Found the issue. The power supply I'm using isn't. It is just a transformer outputting 12v AC. That won't work. More coming, hopefully tonight.

Got it built, but having an issue. All the LEDs all turn on for just an instant when I plug it in or unplug it, but the rest of the time are off. Need to start testing stuff. Any suggestions?

But surely you could build a 10-second car that looked like a mustang for less than $200k? For that kind of money you could get a welded tubular spaceframe, a nice composite body, a motor with some technology in it (direct injection, variable valve timing, forced induction) forged out of some...

I need to swap the seat binder on my Roubaix to a quick release. According to the Tech Specs page, the seat binder is 32.6mm. I can't find a quick release in this exact size. The nearest standard size seems to be 32mm, but I suspect that I need to go to the next larger. None of them seem to...

Some more detail, my buddy helped me do the hardware swap 30 mins before the ride was to start, and we left a full 10 minutes late. We managed to positively spank it into the wind and catch them just after the Pebble Beach Lodge stop. I've never been able to maintain 18+mph into the wind for 20...

After busting up my bike a couple weeks ago I hadn't gone out until today. I tried to do the big Saturday ride I usually do, and it hurt a lot. Interestingly, the vendor shipped the wrong part; so now I have a 34/52 in front and a 12-32 in back. Still some fine tuning to be done, but if I can...

Now that you have an image, you can play with the in-place upgrades. Exposing shares to the network will alert the scanners, and is probably the thing corporate wants to stop before XP becomes unsupported (a not unreasonable request).

48V DC LED wiring for a new build; XM-Ls, etc.

That looks easy enough, wire is cheap. I just need to think through the physical topology. I'll be mounting 6 triples and a single LuxDrive BuckBlock on the flat side of a heatsink that is 24" long, 4.23" wide, and about an inch tall. What do you think of this? Everything is to scale but the...

I suspect that is why he wanted to make sure they were from the same bin and operated at the same temp. Even with those under control, do you think there would be too much variance in Vf? What configuration would you recommend?

Sorry, I'm a bit confused. Since I'm doing 12v, I'll just focus on those bits: 4 triples like this? So 6 strings of one triple each?

48V DC LED wiring for a new build; XM-Ls, etc.

Ended up with 12 of the Triples. I've attached a picture. It looks like I can just run a pair of solder bridges to run them in series? I also have a pair of the LuxDrive BuckBlock 2100mA drivers (PDF). So if I put in 12v, I can run 4 series of 6 and be running them at 350mA? I don't think I'm...

It has a 4-pin P4 power connector hanging off of it. Crappy transformers are an issue, particularly if you don't keep them cool. I've gotten heatsinks from these guys before and epoxied them to the outside of the bricks. Never had one of those die.

I completely agree. It would be great if they posted a time for a mid-level driver on each car. Vehicles that are a huge handful (like the ZR-1, 911 or Viper) would take a beating, and cars that make it easy to go fast (GT-R, R8, Exige) would be rewarded.
