I'd rather buy a Kingston low voltage DDR3 kit. 14$ more, but at least it has a Cas latency of 9 cycle instead of the horrible 11 cycles of the Crucial kit.

SSDs - State of the Product?

SSDs - State of the Product?

In the same line of ideas, Micron launched a new series of PCIe SSD for enterprises. Both freakingly fast and freakingly expensive. The speed is unheard of, at least from what I read so far. The price is quite high : ~2800$ for the 175GB model, ~5600$ for the 350GB one.

Installing Win7 onto a RAID of big drives

Why don't you just move "My Documents" to the secondary large drive or array? They won't fill the system drive that way because it would be extra work for them to move things to the system drive from the location their stuff is saved by default. Users are lazy, they won't do it.

Mooner, putting a tarantula on your face is not something you do. Ever. Their bites are poisonous and quite painful. Not something you want to experience, especially near your main nervous system (brain). I don't think you can die from a tarantula bite, unless you are very young or very old...

Western Digital and Toshiba trade hard drive tech, clearing the way for WD / Hitachi

Only the 3.5" drives, apparently. In a way, it sucks, because Toshiba is harder to deal with on the RMA side. On the other hand, Hitachi's great ingeneering team should remain more intact with a Toshiba takeover than with a Western Digital takeover because Toshiba doesn't already have 3.5"...
