I have installed Server 2008 R2 on my work PC. For some reason the screen saver and monitor shutdown do not work. I spent a couple of hours Googling for answers but have come up empty. I am beginning to believe that a patch or update has hosed the screen saver. Any ideas? Thanks

I scanned some photos in using a HP Deskjet F4135. It did a great job on all the pictures as they were only of family and what not. It has a 'Photo' scan option too. $49.00 at Walmart.

You need to have a WD drive somewhere in your system or it won't install. And it can't see the hard drives attached to a RAID controller. Once installed though it is fine.

I tryed the VMware converter on a 'live' system. It would have taken a very looooong time. I found it faster to make a backup of the system with Acronis, then do the conversion with VMWare converter. Maybe this is faster, I hope

Have you tried installing APC's free software? If i remember correctly, you could set the UPS parameters to what you need.

The one I have uses a 90mm fan that is very loud. I replaced it with a temperature controlled fan from Antec.

It's my understanding that you can't upgrade from XP, only from Vista. Don't know what effect that might have on doing a clean install from the upgrade disc though.

If they were in salt water, I would rinse everything in distilled water first and then the alcohol bath. Don't use the high setting on the blow dryer, the low setting will do the job without adding unnesessary heat. Good Luck :-)

I had the same problem with a different 3Ware card. After poking around on the 3Ware site, I found a registry hack and a firmware update. Seemed to help some. Also, my 8006 and 8506 I am using now really improved when I install the 'beta' drivers. Been using them for over a year with no problems.
