Monitors - Which Technology Is Better?

Active matrix are a type of (modern) liquid crystal displays. It's a term mainly used for laptop's screens and since most modern LCD screen use that technology, manufacturers bother less and less to write it in their spec. sheet. Prior to active matrix LCDs, there were DSTN LCDs, who were...

A sock puppet is an additional nickname for a single member. For instance, Tannin, Tea, CNN Sports and The Grammar Police are all sock puppets of Tony Wilson. Corvair, GIANT, Splash, Platform, Onomatopoeic are all sock puppets of Gary Hendershot. Bartender is the sock puppet of Buck, so is...

    D-Link DI-804 DHCP Problem

The problems related to the 905x are the lockups these NICs provoke when there's too much traffic on the line. What JoJo is experiencing has nothing to do with this.

    We broke a record today.

This morning you mean (it was 10:51am). Morning (North America) is often the most busy period because it's the moment everyone is up and in front of their computer. The Aussies browse before going to bed, the Europeans browse before leaving work and we browse before going to diner.

    D-Link DI-804 DHCP Problem

I know I can communicate with my DSL router and manually assign IP to all its ports (I have an USR8000). Also, a stupid question : is your networks cable (on the system that cannot connect) a cross-type or a regular?

I hope no SF F@h team member is considering to switch camp for SR's UD team. We need you as much as they do (even more, because of our relatively small number). Probably a vain thread, but I felt I had to write a reminder to make sure no one loses the focus. We don't always tell you, but we...

P.S. I found out that I'm not a very good editor while trying to lay something about the OptoRite. The numbers were fine, but it's the text between the graphs that caused me problems. Don't worry about my competition. It's too bad that we don't share the same testbed or I could have sent you...

Hitachi Buys IBM Hard-Drives for $2 Billion

I read here and there that Microsoft could buy AMD (actually, they might be able to buy both AMD and Worldcom) and that's why they are more prone to support x86-64 than Intel's IA64. The next Xbox is supposed to feature an AMD CPU too BTW, not a Pentium whatever. If that would happen, I think...

The reports of those who tried it are positive. Even with the firmware hack, the C1 and C2 errors remain low, with no C3 error at all (unrecoverable errors). The only problems reported regard the medias compatibility as not every media can be writen at up to 48x. You'll have to try it...
