We have one of those spiral trees and a reindeer with a moving head. Both have white lights. In my neighborhood we have quite a few blow up holiday decorations. One guy has an airplane on his roof. Another has a ladder of sorts coming down the front of the house to a ferris wheel of elves or...
I leased a new car - mazda6. Story follows for those interested, it is a longish post.
Wednesday Night:
On the drive home the service engine soon light came on in my 1999 saturn SL2. Then when I went to turn into the shared driveway and had to reverse, the car would not reverse. Which led to...
Back to GPS unit discussion....
I was looking at this portable nuvi 360 unit that has built-in bluetooth. Anybody use the built-in bluetooth? I've read reviews where they say the mic is not that good and you need to buy an external mic. How does that work in the car? I'm looking for...
Why do you care what forum the new posts are in?
I just bookmarked the new posts link from the toolbar at the top and use that as my gateway into storageforum. I never really see the main forum page except when I want to make a new post.
Have I gone crazy?
I'm considering the WD greenpower 1TB drive.
Storagereview review
anandtech review
I know it isn't the best performer. But I think because my PC is in my living room I'm considering the drive for the noise and power level consumption aspects. Even though it is probably...
Does the board have an onboard addon IDE controller chip with it's own bios? That might be taking priority or something. Try disabling the IDE controller you aren't using in the bios.
Walgreens and a few others allow you to submit your photos online and pick up in the store. That is what I do. I think it is just too expensive to keep a photo printer.
I've also used ofoto.com (now kodak gallery).
But if you really want one, I'd look at those new kodak printers because the...
The code tags would just display the code, not render it.
I think udaman was looking for something he can use in his posts so that when we roll over them it switches to another image.
Even if he could include html in his posts (can you do that?) it would probably sanitize the html and remove the...
I was using just html not xhtml. I'm not even sure how you could post that type of thing on this board anyway. It would probably cull your style rules.
You could probably use some of the fancy new css. But probably only opera will do the content swap. Something like this?
<style type="text/css">#frankenstein:hover { content: url(http://willrickards.net/images/DSC_0109.JPG); }</style><img id="frankenstein"...
I've got the nikon D40 with the kit lens (18-55mm no VR).
I'm considering my next lens.
I was looking at the Nikon 2161 (70-300mm VR) @ $480 and the Nikon 2159 (18-200mm VR) @ $700.
I wanted more zoom (can't seem to ever get enough right?). I was taking pictures of Liam at soccer and even...
Is there any good ipod management software that isn't iTunes and works on windows xp pro x64?
iTunes doesn't seem to like xp x64. It installed fine but keeps popping up a message that says it wasn't installed correctly and to re-install. It works - mostly. It keeps asking me to register the...
Well for the eneloops if you buy them from thomas distributing they were giving away the adaptors. So you could use the AA for D or C. So I'm not exactly surprised given the stated capacity.
I was actually thinking of suggesting something like one laser and a photo only printer (you know those 4x6 ones). Not sure if that is in the budget or not. And what about the regular color prints....
Take a look at the epson's and see if any of their models would work for you.
Also what is...
I actually was looking for a motherboard without PS/2 connectors or parallel or serial ports. But I ended up with ps/2 ports. And searching newegg for a G33 based board I see a few with ps/2 connectors.
You're single. You have a marketable skill. The job market seems good right now as opposed to post bubble.
Let's go with a story to illustrate the situation as you've portrayed it.
A bear moves into a zoo. While he is surrounded by animals, there are no other female bears that will mate...
Just move then. What is keeping you tied to Portage Indiana?
Move out to CA or out here to philly PA or new york.
The more people the more likely you'll meet someone.
Hmm seems like a better idea would be to take one of those 5" picture lcd screens and load the flash memory with actual scary halloween pictures. Then mount it in a real pumpkin.
An 8GB SD would have to be SDHC.
You should look for support for those cards in the card readers.
Not all cameras support the new SDHC so I assume a new chipset is needed to read it. So most card readers out there would need an updated chipset.
When I searched for USB Card Reader SDHC on...
If you go into your user cp, there is a way to get them to show up as links rather than inline pictures. I did that specifically because of udaman's posts.
Merc, you might want to be careful about offers to pirate on a public google indexed site.
Has the Gimp been suggested? They just released version 2.4 which has many improvements.
It does what I need it to do but admittedly that isn't much.
udaman,
I think your question has already been answered. You don't "get a replacement for an incandescent bulb without changing out the fixture and spending hundreds if not thousands of dollars that works with a motion detect sensor".
The problem is in the fixture, not the bulb. I'll quote...
On that anandtech article the ad I saw was for the upcoming samsung SSD drives. Looks like they might actually be usable for a boot drive. Maybe a 32GB version will replace my SCSI boot drive.
Now I'm debating whether I should just move all these old e-mails into gmail.
I'm concerned about security though. For example receipts and other sensitive e-mails I don't really want on google servers waiting to get hacked and then leaked. But should I really be concerned? Gmail is probably...
So now that I've switched over to using gmail on my domain....
I have a different problem to solve. While it is great that all my e-mail is on gmail servers and easily searchable online. I would like to keep a copy for myself on my own box. Ideally what I'd like to do is take my old...
I was going to post that david has been desensitizied to this activation crap.
But I refrained because I didn't want to argue over it. But all of you have made the same points I was going to make.
My only issue is I'm still on the fence about whether it is within MS's rights to have some...
The bank foreclosed 2 months ago?
Then how is it still for sale?
If they didn't pay their property taxes, the bank might not own it anymore either. It would go to a government tax sale auction.
Somebody did a recent review of Anti-viruses with a focus on use of system resources. I can't remember who though. But I do know NOD32 was very high in the list (higher means less system resources). It was not the highest though and I was surprised about that.
So I'd still recommend NOD32.
Disclaimer: I'm basically following this advice in my system so I might be biased.
There have been some software updates to the intel drivers for their intergrated graphics. It may be good enough. I'd probably start there and upgrade to an actual graphics card if and when it is needed. The...
First the page design is crappy because the text is hidden by the sidebar.
Second I quote the article:
It is categorized as a motorcycle. It seems to use the same type of tech as the volt. However it puts it in a futuristic looking deathtrap.
I'll pass
Is this icydock closer to what you want? It looked pretty good to me.

I have to implement a backup system for someone and was thinking internal drive bay. But maybe I'll use one of these.
Coming from a point and shoot camera, definitely something you have to get used to. It is not really a problem for most shots. And it helps put your hands in the correct position of one hand holding the lens and the other the body.
But for those shots where you can't look through it.... say...
